Creative, Documentary/Photojournalism style Alternative Wedding Photography based in Brighton, but serving London, the South and South East (and also further afield). Jessica has been a Professional Photographer for over 20 years, and has recently been honoured with the title of UK Wedding Photography Ambassador for the Olympus camera company. She loves to shoot weddings for cool, creative, relaxed, like minded people, with her photographer husband of 14 years, and partner in crime, Julian.
Jessica and Julian met in 2003 through a mutual friend, at a Halloween Burlesque party in London, when Jessica was studying for her Masters in Photography at The Slade School of Fine Art (she has a BA in Art History, and a BFA in Photography also). Julian grew up mostly in Sussex, and his first job out of school was for the town’s only Wedding Photographer. He knew his life was going to involve film and lenses from an early age, and had he grown up in LA instead, would have probably gone into the movie industry. Instead, he travelled and became hooked on stills photography. Having both touched on wedding photography before meeting, it was an obvious move to start photographing friends weddings, and they shot their first wedding together in 2005 while living together in California. This start in photographing friends weddings has very much left a mark on Jessica and Julian’s style of photography, both in its aesthetic, and they way they work. They love to get up in the action, but are adept at blending in with friends and family of they clients, making everyone at ease, and getting the most natural and authentic emotions of the day.
Jessica says: “I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, in the states (and since have lived in New York, St Louis, Portland, London, San Francisco, and Boston) but in 2012 settled and made my home in Brighton and Hove, with my husband Julian and daughter Nora, (and cat Shirley II), by the seaside on the UK’s south coast. Aside from photography, I love my family, crafting with friends, travelling, surfing, teaching, cats!, coffee, movies, baking, all things vintage, and so much more. If you’re looking for a fun, relaxed, documentary style wedding photographer who’ll bring some chill to your special day (I also do parties, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, corporate, product, portrait, and family photography too) drop me a line via the contact form and we can meet for a relaxed coffee and a chat. “
