When I met Chris and JJ it was at their venue, The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. If you haven’t been to this place its like a piece of old English Seaside glory. Yes, its a bit faded but that is its appeal. Everything about it is grand and gold, and glittery. It was my kind of place. It had a kind of Baroque splendour mixed with the faint smell of salt sea air. I was thrilled that Chris and JJ chose me as their photographer. They are quite the international couple. JJ is from Brazil but lived in Switzerland, Chris was American, living in the Netherlands and married in England. Both love thrills and adventure. Instead of a stag and hen do, they opted to do a joint skydiving trip just two days before their wedding! The loveliest thing about Chris and JJ’s wedding day was all the friends and family who travelled from literally every corner of the globe to help them celebrate. JJ hadn’t seen some of her family for years so it was a very emotional day indeed.
The ceremony was conducted in both Portuguese and English as were the toasts. The couple didn’t opt to have anything overtly cultural at the wedding and instead went with a classic and timeless look. JJ looked every bit the princess and Chris very much like her prince. They set aside a good 40 minutes for us to run around the hotel doing some quiet and romantic portraits that I hope they will treasure forever. Such a lovely couple, I can’t wait to see what adventures await them in their future together
