Second Shooting For the Win
I love second shooting for my fellow photographers at weddings. It’s really great to see how other people work and get a chance to really seek out those fantastic interaction and moments amongst the guests to get some truly awesome candid shots. This is a fun wedding, shot by Anna Pumer, that I had the pleasure of being a second on. It was a great fun day and Rachel and Steve were up for just about anything. You may have seen this wedding featured in the very first printed issue of Rockn’ Roll Bride. We spent a slightly wet and grey day at the Brighton sea front at OhSo Social drinking Pimms and getting ready for the epic powder paint fight shot and smile bombs and BMX shots. Both were a new experience for me but made for some amazing shots. By the end Steve and Rachel and all their guests were covered in electric colour. The sun came out a bit later in time for a few iconic Brighton Beach shots on the round about. Anna and I returned to the beach to meet Steve and Rachel around 9pm for our grand finale shot using our DIY sparklers (steal wool and a whisk), an umbrella, and a well rehearsed dance of light and sparks. Anna and I had practiced this shot a week earlier so we could achieve it in limited time and safely. All in all I was really please with my own shots for the day and loved being a part of Rachel and Steve’s unique wedding.
